I have followed J.R. North every time he moves his shop, no matter how far out of the way he might go. He has now moved almost 10 miles away but I am still willing to go the distance because he does great work and it totally trustworthy. Bob Bost Seattle

I've had very good luck here with my 2 older Volkswagens. The mechanic, JR, seems to be more of an old school mechanic who actually fixes problems rather than just blindly replaces parts. He did a good job replacing my front/rear brakes, so I had him replace the head gasket that I had needed done for a while but didn't trust anyone to do it properly. It's a tricky job to get right, but when I got the car back I was pleased at how much more pull the car had. He cleaned the head/block surfaces really well, and got a good tight seal, and now I've got more power, no more missing coolant, and the engine just purrs so I know the timing and everything was done correctly. He didn't replace anything unnecessarily either, trying to pad the bill, which was a nice change from some other shops I've dealt with. Since the quality of the work was so good I left the car there and had him do a lot of other work that was long overdue, like replacing the radiator fan. Instead of replacing my original German made fan with a new Chinese one, he removed it, opened it up and fixed the burned out resistors so I could keep the OEM German made fan. He also took care of some weird electrical issues no one else could fix, and installed a keyless entry system I had bought. So I was very pleased with the quality of the work, the reasonable pricing and will bring my other VW there as well for a long overdue update.
