I found Bret's by price-shopping for my timing belt
replacement in 2000. I have since become a dedicated
customer. Bret runs a shop with extremely high
integrity. My Civic, Legend, and Tundra (for oil changes)
haven't been taken anywhere else since.
My family bring their Hondas there as well. My sister is
always pleased with the fact that no one talks down to
her.
They're open one Saturday a month.
I once considered moving away from the area. When I
weighed the pros and cons of moving, one of the cons was
actually having to leave this trustworthy repair shop!

A few years ago I got disgusted enough with the dealer repair prices to try someone new. Their rates are(more)reasonable, and they seem to be quite customer service oriented. The topper though was when my car overheated due to their faulty installation of a thermostat (accidents happen). (Turns out I didn't really need it - my guage just reads a little high.) They were very apologetic, fixed it free the same day, the owner himself came out to apologize personally! When I picked up the car, I found 2 "free oil change" coupons and a $20 bill on the seat (about the price of the T-stat). The experience turned me from a frustrated and inconvenienced customer into a satisfied one. Who says honesty and service are dead these days?!

I took my very old Civic in and they have helped greatly to keep it running and safe without running up unnecessary repair bills on a car with a rotten interior and maybe 50,000 miles left on it. The thing is, now it works well enough that I may put some money into it! Thanks, Phil.

I had my 60k done on my '03 Element at over 50% less than
what Honda wanted to charge. I also had them look at some
oil leakage and they quickly identified the problem and had
it fixed about 2 weeks later.
They are honest and easy to work with ! Great guys.

I was referred to this shop by another auto mechanic. Found
Bret's to be customer friendly, repair work done well, and
complete on time. What more can you ask!

All in all, a highly recommended general service auto repair
place. Good people, fair price, and they stand by their
work all the way. My Honda had a very rare transmission
problem, a tough one to diagnose. They did, after a LOT of
hard work and expense to themselves, solve the problem. They
could have charged me a lot more than they did, and to their
credit, elected to NOT do so. A top notch shop in all
regards. Highly recommended.

I strongly recommend Bret's Independent. I own a 10 and 23
year old Honda, and I confidently take them on long road
trips because Bret who is very knowledgeable about Honda's is
honest and straight talking. There is a Honda service
center just down the street and the work they did was good,
but go to Bret's and experience the difference.
