Jeff Godfrey does excellent and conscientious work. One BIG problem. I paid $65 to have him check out a car I was thinking about buying, and specifically asked him not to give the seller any information about what the inspection showed, since I did not want the seller to use information I had paid for to sell the car before I could arrange financing. I didn't want to pretend there were things wrong with the car, I just didn't want the seller to get information that I had paid for. Jeff told the seller exactly what he had found out...that the car was one of the best he had ever examined. The seller asked, and Jeff told him. I found this very disturbing.

I've sent 5 or 6 friends to Godfrey's and they're all as happy as I am. No one else will EVER touch my car as long as I have breath in my body. Jeff's diagnostic skills are great; if the car doesn't need anything done he says so, he does his best to save the owner money... I just can't say enough good about the place. He's kept my Mazda running past 300K and we both just shake our heads in wonder.

Jeff is an awesome mechanic, can fix anything and if he cant he will tell.Hows that for honesty. Godfreys auto Works is the best shop in town. Jeff and his financee that run the shop are a great team. There estimates are free...something you dont see everyday. There are a 10 in my book!

Mr. Godfrey has a wide range of knowledge and can fix and explain just about anything. It may take a little extra time if he is busy as he is very thorough and takes the extra mile to do the extra testing. I would trust no one other than him with my vehicles. He has found problems and safety hazards that other shops have left behind!

was reading the previous survey information and noticed that the field for does he take time to explain the problems and necessary repairs was not marked, would like to add he does! Jeff keeps all of the old parts to show each customer and very thoroughly explains each reaair as well as writes in on each invoice. He is very thorough in this area.

Seven years ago I raved about Jeff's care for my Mazda. It finally left the family and was replaced by a PT Cruiser. Jeff has consistently shown his exceptional diagnostic skills, willingness to work with the customer to prioritize repairs when cost is an issue and commitment to getting the work done right. His business ethics set the bar REALLY high for an industry that has - uh - suffered in that area for years. I've now moved 2,400 miles away (after taking the PT to Jeff to make sure it was roadworthy) and have returned to the MechanicsFiles to find a new provider. I was soooooo sorry to lose Jeff!
