Since I had a 1978 Datsun 610-Series Kingcab Pickup, I got to know Jay quite well. The "Seahawk" truck (as it was known as)usually made a visit to Jay's about every other month. The Seahawk truck would usually break down enroute to wherever (usually close because it couldn't really go above 50 mph) and we could just push it over to Jay's and leave it in front. We would then call Jay the next morning and tell him what happened. In a very timely manner, Jay would call back and tell us what, where, and how much. We would then go pay reasonable prices for great and honest work and pick up the Seahawk truck. Great garage.

Jay's is by far the BEST shop in Kirkland! I can always
trust what they tell me and know that my car is in good
hands. I'm an older female and I wouldn't take my car
anywhere else.

We have lived in the Kirkland area for over ten years and
have used Jay's for all of our car repairs. They have a
very nice staff, always take time to explain things and
never make it seem like it is a hardship. I really
appreciate their honesty. They will let you know if certain
repairs can be postponed. We are very satisfied and
recommend Jay's shop to anyone we know that is looking for
a great mechanic!

Finally a mechanic I feel completely confident that I can
trust, good work, good folks.

I've been using Jay's since 2004. I was looking for a
repair shop in my new neighborhood. The first thing I
noticed was that Jay's shop was very spacious and clean. I
consider that a good sign, and a good way to have contented
employees.
My experiences with Jay's have been uniformly excellent.
The people are very competent and knowledgeable, as well as
very nice. I've never had even the slightest reason to
doubt their honesty or the quality of their work. Jay
himself has frequently given me a fair amount of time --
advice and pointers -- at no charge.
When I discovered the CarTalk site just now, I noted that
the previous recommendations for Jay's must have been
genuine, i.e. not posted by Jay's, because the name of the
business was incorrect and there was no phone# or address.
(I've sent in an update to fix that.)

I've been going to Jay's for over 10 years. They have
impressed me on two fronts: 1) competence, and 2) honesty.

I have taken multiple cars to Jay's over the years and
have always a good experience with them. I've always been
treated fairly and have come to trust their
recommendations and judgement. Two thumbs up!

Rear brakes and an A/C clutch seemed too much for them to handle. In fact, they never figured out whether they worked on the front or the rear brakes at all. I ended up with warped disc and a non-functioning e-brake. A/C was never fixed properly.
Cut my losses with them, but spent $800 to get front brakes done, rear repaired, and A/C a marginal success.
