I took my Ford f-150 in to have my winter tires taken off, a fairly cheap and simple procedure. I figured while they had it up on the jacks they could tell me what they thought about a rattling that had been going on for a long time in the rear muffler region. After a while they came out and said they thought they just needed to tighten a bolt. It was one of those fixes that I assumed would take seconds and would be free. I must have been there for an additional hour or more, watching through the window at much head scratching and tinkering. I was told that the problem was fixed and received a bill 2 times the size of what was initially quoted, which reflected the time and materials used to fix the rattle. My heart sank. I had not anticipated on spending more than the simple tire change. After driving for a short period, I realized that the sound was still there. That's when I started to get a little angry. Not only did I waste a great deal of time while they tinkered, but the problem hadn't been fixed and they didn't give me the slightest clue IF and HOW MUCH they would charge me. In the end they refunded me for the bogus work but not without some hard feelings on both sides. I probably won't be going back, especially because my girlfriend had an independent and similar experience with Girlington Garage that happened after my incident. With that said, I think the garage has potential. They are new to the business and should be given the benefit of the doubt as they learn the ways of good business. If you would like to try them out, be sure you get quotes for the work and communicate your expectations/assumptions clearly before any work is performed.

They are wonderful! The organization I work for takes our entire fleet of twenty vehicles to Girlington Garage, and they continue to impress us with their honesty and excellent service and their pricing is reasonable. As a person unfamiliar with the finer details of car mechanics, I appreciate the time they take to explain issues and ensure my understanding. I would recommend them to anyone in the Burlington area.

I have only been to Girlington, and it was just for an inspection but I believe it revealed a lot. I brought in my eleven year old Honda for a state inspection. I was moving from South Carolina so it had never been inspected. They could have manufactured a dozen problems, but all they came up with was the total sum of everything wrong with the car...a burned out license plate light. They fixed it for a couple of bucks and sent me on my way. Also, their garage and waiting area are unusually clean and inviting. I'll be back!
