These guys are the greatest! Super honest, fast, and reliable. I know absolutely nothing about cars and never felt taken advantage of or stupid. Interestingly, I had gone to Pearl St. Mobil for an inspection, was told that I need a right front axle and it would cost $325. Over the phone, SVS said they could fix it for $175. When I dropped the car off at SVS to repair it, I was called shortly after and told that there was nothing wrong with the axle. You cannot get anymore honest than that!

Daren is the Best!

Daren is always professional, reliable and accommodating to his customers. If there is a problem with my 2001 Ford Ranger, it gets fixed the first time. My husband and I both gave recommendations for SVS from Car Talk's Mechanics files previously. I recommend this shop to all my friends and go out of my way to bring my vehicles here. Bus stops are close for morning drop-off and afternoon pickup.

Daren (the owner) has worked on my Outback(s) for over 7 years. In that time, he has saved me thousands of dollars, performed top notch, and given me nothing but honest advice each and every time I've been to SVS. Daren loves working on cars that NEED work. Not ones that don't. He'll always steer you straight on what to do, and if your car can wait a few thousand miles for something, he'll tell you that, rather than try and make a buck off you today. You know that he is always looking out for you as a customer and treating your car the way he would his own. Great mechanic and really fair friendly guy!

I've never brought my vehicles to a more honest, competent, and friendly mechanic than SVS. Stop by SVS, talk to Daren, get your car fixed.

Probably the best mechanic I've ever been to. Honest, capable and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Darren is hands down the best mechanic I've ever had. I had a horrible noise coming from my car's front end that three other mechanics had failed to fix. Darren put it up on the lift, figured it out immediately, fixed it, and I was on my way. I've gone to him ever since. My partner, trying to do a nice thing for me while I was out of town, took my car to another garage to get it tuned up and they botched everything and overcharged him. So I took it back to Darren and it was good as new. He's my 11 year old car's guardian angel.

Daren is one of the best mechanics I've ever been to. Extremely honest guy and great employees. I was referred to him by a friend who has been taking his vehicles there for many years. Daren always remembers me and my car and never performs work that doesn't need to be done. I recommend him to all my friends!

SVS will perform vehicle service for the bottom dollar, but expect bottom dollar quality. - Improper ATF used (Valvoline Maxlife). Darren claims is compatible, Chrysler documentation shows otherwise. - Fluid change was performed, mixing ATF+4 and improper Maxlife fluid. Flush was requested via phone, found out when dropping vehicle that only change was possible. - Charged for gasket, but did not install. RTV used in place. - RTV over-applied. RTV was found in ATF pan and filter. - Vehicle now shudders under any load, especially going up hills or entering highway. Torque converter unable to lock. 2008 Jeep Liberty was brought to SVS Auto for a transmission fluid flush, filter, and gasket change scheduled over the phone. Symptom at time of drop-off was slow shifting. Upon arriving, we were informed a flush machine was not available, but that a fluid change would be performed. We assumed SVS knew what type of fluid to use, ATF+4, but later found that they used an incompatible Maxlife fluid. This incompatible fluid was mixed with the remaining fluid in the torque converter. The car began to shudder under any load. Darren agreed to refund $160 of the $220 so we could have it flushed properly. We assumed the gasket and filter would be OK, and were happy to leave the remaining $60 at this time. We had it towed to another shop where it was discovered that no gasket was used, RTV was over-applied and in the pan and filter (pictures attached). Darren now refuses to refund the remaining $60 balance.
