The engine on our Tarus Wagon blew and before they cracked it open, Melvin told me he thought we'd need a new engine. (at the insistence of my Dad, we got an estimate from a dealership and they quoted us a price about $1,500 more than Melvin did.) They ordered the engine and had it at the shop, then pulled the old one. Melvin called me and told me that it only happens once in a hundred times, but I didn't need a new engine, just new gaskets, a few other things, and a good cleaning. Probably cost $500 rather than $1500. The actual bill was about $480. That's honest, and just the one major repair we've had them do, on top of many small ones.
