These guys are amazing. Not only are they competent, but they are also honest and have reasonable prices. If they make a mistake (rare) they correct it - - charging for the correction and not the mistake and the correction! I probably take my car to them twice a year for various reasons and am always amazed at the quality work I receive.

There are many small auto mechanic shops on the Richmond's
east side, but few well rated ones. My front wheel bearing
was whirring and we found Lloyds Tire & Auto Repair down the
street.
The shop has ASE rated mechanics They quoted a price and
met it, and they worked in a very reasonable amount of time,
properly diagnosing, ordering parts, and finishing the
repair in an afternoon. I thought it was the front right
bearing, Lloyd's properly diagnosed it to the front left.
They had my permission to replace both wheel bearings if
necessary and get twice as much money from me, but didn't.
Honest mechanics are appreciated. They also took the time
to talk with me about different issues with the vehicle; I
never felt rushed.
Prices are standard hourly rates I've encountered around
town. The shop does not have the large diagnostic equipment
out front seen in many repair shops, however they assured me
they have diagnostic equipment in back. The shop is not the
new, spotless, well-organized appearance you get at a
dealer. Lloyd's looks well-worn, like most shops on the East
side. If you're interested in looks, it's not the place to
go. If you are looking for a shop that's competent, fair,
reasonably priced for mechanical work, and honest, they were
good to me.
Ex: I requested a quote on tires and an alignment. They
quickly quoted me a price that was notably below what I
could find in the local area. I was able to beat it
slightly, but only by waiting for separate sales and
stacking corporate coupons. If you need work done and you
don't have the time to wait/shop around, I recommend them.

I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
Support the local area businesses!
Especially when they treat you like family, are honest and
know what they are doing like Lloyd's does.
