I have had two experiences with Perfection Muffler, one
maddening and the other good.
First of all, let me say that they're great guys! Just
make sure of the work that you are having done beforehand.
On the first visit, I took my vehicle into them to have a
generic catalytic converter installed after having
installed a factory-new downpipe and rear exhaust section
myself (the factory converter, however, was exhorbitantly
priced). I had assumed they would weld the existing
converter flanges onto the new unit and bolt it in.
Instead, I found out when I got home that they had cut the
flanges off of the brand new pipes and welded in the
converter, leaving me with a single-piece manifold to
tailpipe exhaust system. Now, if something fails or
develops a hole, I'll have to have something pieced in or
replace everything.
On the second, I took a hard-to-find catalytic converter
into them to be installed to replace the failed factory
unit. I was unable to get the bolts out and replace it
myself. They offered me the option of cutting the bolts
off and replacing at the flanges to retain the factory
exhaust setup, or cutting the converter off of the
existing flanges and likewise witht the replacement unit,
and then welding the replacement converter to the existing
flanges. I opted for the first solution, and am very
pleased with their work.
In both instances, the price was fair and the work was
done quickly and when promised.

Rude and unprofessional. I called and spoke with a gentleman about getting a catalytic converter; we couldn't determine which one I needed so he told me if I brought it by he would take a look real quick and we could schedule it for the next day. I arrive and speak to the person at the counter and explain I had just spoke with someone who told me to bring it by. I ask if he was who I spoke to and he replies with just "no". I explain to him that I was told to bring it down for a quick check to which he responded with "nope, we're full" and closes the counter window in my face. He made no effort to even determine who I spoke with nor could he be bothered to try and help or even say more than 4 words. One of the rudest experiences I've ever encountered at a place of business and incredibly unprofessional.
