The owner-head mechanic, Tim Gray, has worked on both my
1989 Honda Accord and my 1981 Ford F-150 with excellent
results since 2002 (over 5 years) at his present location.
Before he openced his own shop, Tim was a mechanic for over
thirteen years with another well-respected shop in
Richmond. He also has extensive experience in custom
muffler-exhaust work. Tim is friendly, straight-forward,
honest and very knowledgeable about a wide range of
automobile and truck problems. He tells you the problems
and the costs up front. If he can't do somethng at his
shop, he'll give you his best opinion on where to get the
work done. His shop is up-to-date, clean and member of the
Better Business Bureau. The shop also does inspections and
has a towing service.

Virginia state law requires annual inspections, and I had
never had to have a car inspected before because I had not
owned cars with Virginia license plates, and therefore was a
bit nervous about my first inspection. A friend recommended
Headlights to Tailpipes, and I went there still worried that
the mechanics were going to rip me off, but I was happily
proven wrong. Tim is a very genial and honest person, and
my car was done in less than half a day. It only took that
long because it needed a new serpentine belt, and that was
also very reasonably priced. Overall, the experience was
great, and I am going to slowly overcome my fear of auto
shops and recommend this place to others as well.

These guys are great! My wife and I take our cars there every
time we need something done. I have given these guys ample
opportunity to screw me over if they wanted - example: I take the
car in and say, "I think I need brakes with my inspection."
Dude calls me two hours later, and says, "Got your inspection
done and you didn't need brakes." Awesome! They are super
friendly, and they turn the cars around as quick as they can.
They saved me a bunch of money on parts too. I send all of my
friends here, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!
