Marc does a great job. He explains what's needed, and
why. He gets the job done right, and on time. I saved a
lot of money by having him do repairs for me, instead of
the dealer. I highly recommend him for Volvo service.

I agree with the prior poster that Marc may not be the cheapest mechanic around in the short term, but when you're trying to keep a high mileage Volvo on the road, he is cost effective because he does a good job. He is honest and doesn't do unnecessary repairs - unless you want him to.

Mark has worked on my 1986 and 1993 Volvos and has always
been one who offers more than one repair path based on the
car's age and mileage. I had an automatic transmission
shifting problem. He test drove the car and told me to
simply shift it manually when starting off. He charged
nothing for the service and within a couple of months the
trans worked normally. He is not inexpensive, but he is
worth every dollar one pays him. He works on your car
himself. I have been to many Volvo mechanics and he is the
best Volvo mechanic in the DC metro area, especially for
folks with high mileage bricks.

I agree with the other comments: work was superb, fast, and
Mark explained everything to me. They fixed my car the
first time. I brought my '92 Volvo 240 here based on this
listing, after taking it to three other mechanics who could
not fix it. They know Volvos!

I've taken my '98 Volvo in three times over the last year
and the repairs are always cheaper than the dealer. Mark
explains issues and does not attempt to sell
repairs/services that are not needed.
Everything has been fixed correctly the first time, and
always within the time Mark committed to.

I have brought my V70 3 times and twice Mark diagnosed the problems for free. One time he referred me to a Indie with Dealership computers to get a software upgrade and the second time he recommended I attempt to get a dealer to fix a problem for free under an obscure recall (recall didnt show up under my vin but he correctly suggested they would fix it for free - saved me $1200). Third time he did a great job helping me with a radiator that leaked into my Tranny! I would say he is very very honest as he could have fleeced me on the #2 fuel pump problem but didnt. As with any mechanic as for specific quotes before any work is done and verify the price by calling other mechanics for quotes.
I would recommend Mark and will use him again for my Volvo.
