I arrived with a broken tailpipe on Monday morning. They had a replacement part delivered and installed and I was ready to go in about an hour. The price was reasonable, and they could easily have sold me an entire muffler system and I would have never known.

I had my car towed by their truck (they told me the towing was free if the work was done by them, $75 otherwise.) and they charged me $80 fee for towing on my invoice without making any other mention of it. I argued with them for about 15 minutes and they dropped that fee. The problem with my car: a pump failed and shredded my serpentine belt. This disconnected my hoses, broke my fan, and damaged at least one other belt. My oil cap was also shattered. They kept joking around about what was wrong with my car. I was confused for about a day of what my serpentine belt had destroyed. Eventually I figured it out. They attempted to charge me extra "fees" for the amount of time I was waiting (about 3 days) because my car was taking up space on the lot. There were also "disposal" fees, and they over-charged me for the repairs. They refused to explain to me what the fees were for and they wouldn't explain what was wrong with my car. Initially I was asked to pay more than $400 extra in fees. I had to stand my ground and argue with the mechanics and the man at the desk for more than 45 minutes in order to get them to give me a proper price. It caused quite a scene. The repairs failed less than 10 days later and I went to a goodyear mechanic that was closer to me. I ended up paying around $1,500 in repairs over the next few weeks. I never went back to advanced automotive. Recently I called Advanced Automotive about a quote for having my front brakes and rotors replaced. They quoted me "around $380-400". During this quote they kept making jokes that it would cost me "a million!" and that it was "totally necessary to start and stop a car!". He was joking around in an attempt to distract me. It was most annoying. I got new rotors and brakes at the goodyear place for $330, including labour. In conclusion: I feel that these guys are way over priced. They attempt to make up for high prices and inability to explain things by joking around with the customer. It made me feel like I was being treated as an idiot.

I have used Advanced Automotive twice, once with a battery issue and later with the car overheating, and have been very pleased with them each time. Their staff is very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. They explained the problems clearly, answered my questions, and fixed the problems the first time. I was from out of town each time and their charges were more than reasonable. I greatly appreciate their work and would recommend their services to anyone.
