Great people. Once a friend (who was from a foreign country, new to the area and not one of their previous customers) brought his car in for some work. When he picked up the vehicle they told him, "We did the work and noticed your safety inspection had expired. We did the inspection, but you don't have to pay us for it since you didn't request it." (He paid anyway.)

I have been very pleased with these guys. I have tried other shops which are closer to my job, but have always come back to them. Several times through the years I have had to drop off a car at night with just a note describing problems and a tight time frame of when I needed the car back. They have always managed to get me back on the road in time.

HP (the owner) is as honest as they come and is particularly helpful in deciding what--if any--repairs should be made to vehicles which are nearing the end of their useful life (which describes most of my vehicles!)

Solid competent people. Reasonable in charges and in approach.

HP Gregory and his staff are knowledgeable and trustworthy. I have utilized the services of Gregory Auto Repair for about 25 years. I have recently moved about 20 minutes away from the shop so it is not as convenient as when I lived in Amherst, but it is worth the drive. There is a drop box for keys, leave a note explaining the problem and it will be fixed promptly.

My daughter's car broke down in Nelson County and it was going to be $150-200 to have it towed back to my regular mechanic which was 45 miles from Arrington. I started to look for a mechanic closer to where the car was. After talking to one in Lovingston and finding Gregory's on this website and talking to Mr Gregory himself, I went with him. I was looking for somebody honest, reasonable and who could get my daughter's car back on the road quickly. Gregory's fit the bill for all three of these, My daughter had started a new teaching job which not only requires her getting to & from work but she has to travel between two schools in the middle of the day so it was very important for her to get her car back. Mr Gregory was very accommodating and I would go back to him in a heartbeat if he was only closer to where I live.
