Excellent shop. I brought in my Ranger hoping to get a second opinion on an engine rattle that I had been told was both the A/C compressor and the serpentine belt. Mike immediately identified it as the the torque converter belt and spent the day tightening them. Me saved me a ton and fixed the actual problem; you can't ask for more than that.

Slaugh's is great! After dealing with water pump fiascoes for about a year and never having the problem resolved by other mechanics, Mike was a breath of fresh air. Brought a Mazda protege and Chevy S-10 into the shop to have second opinions on issues identified by other mechanics, and Mike always identified the true problem (or lack thereof) and explained the issues thoroughly so that I could make the best decision on the necessary repairs. He takes the approach of, "if it were my car," so you can trust that he won't suggest unnecessary work be done on your vehicle. Very convenient shop hours, really close to several bus lines and shops. I can't say enough about how happy I am with Slaugh's Auto - the dream mechanic!

I had previously written a glowing review for Slaugh's. I had a fuse blowing repeatedly in my car so my rear lights didn't work. They gave me the option to do an expensive investigation into the entire electrical system, or just to keep replacing the fuse. They showed me how and where to do it, and even gave me a few fuses for free. Replacing fuses been a very manageable solution and the problem actually went away, so I'm glad I went to them. That was a few years ago. I took the car back because it was shaking dramatically, especially at higher speeds. They replaced a transmission mount that looked bent out of shape and did a few other things but nothing helped. I took it to another shop that immediately told me I had a broken axle and fixed it. I'm not sure how Slaugh and his guys could have missed something so dramatic and am a bit anxious that it could have been dangerous. I still recommend them, but with some reservations now.
