First off, I should say I've only been to Lone Star Bavarian once but here's the story. In the course of one evening a light tapping between the front seats developed into a car shuddering thump. I correctly assumed it was the central support bearing for the driveshaft, but after looking it over I thought it would be better to take in and have a pro make sure that was all it was. I called around to 5 different BMW specialty shops to check rough prices. One was outrageously high, two were cheap but they weren't really informative, one I had been to before and we just didn't click. When I talked to Trent at LSB He wasn't the cheapest but he was close. And more importantly to me, he didn't just quote a price, he asked what it was doing and covered all the possibilities with me. He actually sounded as interested in my car than I was. I took My new-for-me 86 528e there and in 5 minutes he had it on the lift showing me what the current problem was plus a couple of thing that needed attention in the future. He did the work fast. His shop is cleaner than my kitchen. He likes helping out do-it- yourselfers. Sold me a Bentley manual for less than I had seen anywhere on the net. He also does tech sessions for the local BMWCCA chapter.

I am a BMW CCA member and have used LoneStar Bavarian since moving to TX from WY. They have worked on my '74 2002 and '87 535is. They are knowledgable and competent. Trent is very helpful in diagnosing problems and in finding cost effective solutions to problems with my older cars. Trent and others in the shop have owned and driven e28's and know the problem areas from both an owner and technician's points of view. Although not the least expensive alternative in the Metroplex, they have certainly given me good service. I recommend LSB without reservation.

Trent and his associates are the best! He talks to you like that neighbor you borrow tools from, helps keep costs reasonable if you are on a budget, and does the job right the first time. I have sent many BMW owners his way and have never heard of a bad experience.

I used this shop for the first time back in January of this year and was very pleased with their facility, hospitality and, of course, the service my 2006 x3 received. These guys are top notch and know their BMW`s. Overall I have been back three times and they finally found the ghost in my car. And I thought I was going crazy! What great guys! I would not hesitate to return.
