I second the last guy's comment. They charge WAAAAAAY too much for work that any shade tree mechanic could do cheaper and better. I will never go there again.

I've used Shreve for over 10 years now for all non-warranty
work. I've found that their initial estimate is invariably
higher than the quote you may receive from a chain repair
place. However, the work is done accurately and on time.
More importantly, there aren't hidden surprises. I've taken
a car to a national brake chain for an estimate and ended
up with a quote for over $800. I took it to Shreve and
ended up with the work done the same day for less than 1/2
of the price. It turns out that Shreve only does the NEEDED
work.
In addition, Bill Harris is the most knowledgable local car
guy I've found. With his background in auto repair and
education in engineering, Bill is usually able to diagnose
a car over the phone and give you a relatively accurate
estimate. Just as important, Bill will tell you when it's
time to put a car out of its misery.
