The first time I took my Honda to Joe for its 30k mile service, he told me what to expect price-wise before I left. He called me during the day to tell me what they found and what they wanted to do, what needed to be done now, what could wait, and what to expect to need work in the coming year. When I went to pick it up, he popped the hood and showed me everything they did, explained why, and showed me the old hoses and spark plugs they took out compared with new ones. I feel confident that he is honest and is taking great care of my car. I like that he knows who I am when I call and that he treats my partner and me well (not everyone treats two women like actual people, you know). I send all of my friends to him, and I will only buy cars that he will work on (Japanese and German).

Very close to the bus stop. Joe usually has someone drive me to work when I drop my car off in the a.m.

These guys are great. Their work is high quality, their easy to work with, and relaxed. Service at the counter is slow, but then again, so is the real Austin. The only negative I've found is lack of full service. They will tell you when sending the car out to a specialist, but I made the mistake of cajoling them into a balance and alignment when I bought a new set of tires through them. Later had to take the car elsewhere to get that redone. Lesson learned - when Flamingo tells you something is outside their domain, listen.

When I bought my car, the driver's window had trouble coming up. I was told when I bought it that it was a $300 part. They took the door apart and tightened a bolt, and now the window works. They told me about a couple other things the car needed, like warn down transmission bushings, and told me that I could put off for a while. I also had them fix a broken window. They were able to find a used one and the price was reasonable.

I can't believe I didn't use Flamingo sooner! Argh... they are not only competent and honest, but they are funky and true Austin.

Joe is an exceptional mechanic, hands down, as well as a great guy. He has been working on my family's Hondas and Acuras for years, and most recently my temperamental Audi, which he checked out before I bought it, and warned me would be a pain. Not only is he fair and knowledgeable, he tells me when he thinks I can do some of the work on my own, and how to go about it. I just moved to California, and I am dreading having to find another mechanic!

They normally only work on Asian imports (my Dodge Stealth is basically a Mitsubishi 3000GT). Great shop, and they will take time to prioritize repairs with the customer - which one are critical, vs. which ones can wait. Only down side is that they are so good, they tend to be busy all the time.
