These folks forgot to tell me something about my car and couldn't get in contact with me for permission to replace a part. They put a brand-new part in it for me at no extra cost!

They are always busy, but take the time to get to know you if you take the time too. They answer your questions, and explain the bill. They serviced my Honda Civic SI for over 10 years, and always let me know what to service next and what to watch for. They usually can beat the dealer's prices for service, so when my warranty expires on my new- ish Honda Accord, I wlll return to Bill's Dealership Alternative - and I send all my friends there too.

I started taking my 1990 Honda to Dealership Alternative in 1995, when they were HondAcura. Ian, the original manager has left, but Bill is also great and explains all my options. Honest service, pricing that always beats dealers by 15 to 20%, even major work done in one day, 2-year/24K warranty and a free ride to work AND BACK! I brought in my car once after a wheel-squealing incident on the way to work. Even though their shop was bustling, they put it on a lift for me right away, pulled the wheel and looked for the problem. (They even let me look, too.) Everything looked fine; we determined a rock probably got kicked onto the rotor and squealed until it disintegrated. I was out the door 20 minutes after I pulled in and they wouldn't take any money for their trouble. I've recommended the shop to friends with Hondas and Toyotas both; they're all regular customers now.

If I hadn't moved out of state, I'd still be going here. The shortest recommendation: they found a problem with the car and told me: "it would cost $x to fix it, but if it were my car, I wouldn't, instead I'd do xyz". Another short recommendation: "that's an electrical problem, and we could spend hours figuring it out - you should go to Beck's Electric and they'll figure it out much more quickly and inexpensively". Now, if I can just find someone that good in my new town ... Comments on scores: 4 - timely : they're sometimes overwhelmed with business 4 - male vs. female : they tend to be more attentive to females, but will explain to as much detail as you personally want ? - public transport : never had to worry about it
