His prices may be a little more, but soo many times he has done stuff for free, so it pans out really good. His 1 employ is an ASE Master. Dean is really great with aircooled VWs, and has a great knack of the watercooled ones as well.

I am somewhat of a shade tree mechanic and do as much of my own auto work as I can. I usually do not allow anyone to work on my cars for fear of them not taking the time to understand my old Volkswagen's. Dean and Alan however are the only guys in town that I fully trust to work on my obscure 86 vw Vanagon 4x4. Also these guys on good faith that I wouldn't break or pawn them, have loaned me perfectly good vw specialty tools to help me out of a few serious binds. I think the rates are pretty reasonable and Dean has diagnosed a few things for me and not charged me anything which doesn't happen much these days. Only guys in town I trust or recommend to fix a car. Also if need be Dean can build you a beetle that can probably break some land speed record for a Volkswagen.
