Well, I guess the Mechan-x files do actually work. 5 months ago, I screwed up and left my wipers on when I turned off the car and didn't notice it the next day when they were frozen to the windshield (by the snow that had just fallen - we get some from time to time) and decided to burn out not only the motor but the board controlling the wipers. They fixed them up at a very reasonable price and sent me on my way (even though I had Wisconsin plates). Well, this week (having relocated permanently to Knoxville), I left my wipers on the intermittent setting overnight and went to turn them off the next morning and the off position turned them on low, so I couldn't even turn them off! I drove it back to the shop (on a bright morning with the wipers on) and had them look at it. They took the time to look up my repair records and since they installed a defective board, that they would replace it without charge (5 months later!) including the labor. They ate the labor charges because they didn't think I should pay for a defective part that they couldn't even control. Paul and Judy have been very as nice as everyone else in the Mechan-x files has been reporting. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a competant and honest mechanic.

Paul and Judy rock! I'm a broke-ass college student with a broke-ass Ford, and they treat us both with kindness and efficentcy everytime.

If you live in or near Downtown Knoxville, you must give Paul and Judy a try at Auto Technicians. They are the most friendly, polite. patient and honest people I have ever met in this business.

I found Paul and Judy on Mechan-x and was very pleased with
all my dealings with them. They've serviced my car on
things as small as an oil change and as large as an oil
leak. Judy is VERY sweet and Paul is a pleasure to deal
with; I've never felt as though I was being talked down to
and on the occasions that warranted it, they offered me
more than one option for repairs (fix part or all) with
estimates for each. Since I've moved to W. Knoxville and
work during most of their shop hours I've had to find a
closer mechanic but hate having to!

Paul and Judy have gone out of their way to accommodate my sometimes
strange requests, and have been very reasonable with their prices. Always nice.
If they don't get it right the first time, they keep trying and don't charge for the
mistake.

When I called Auto Mechanics I was impressed right off the
bat! Judy, the mechanic Paul's wife, listened, and offered
good advise on alternate, inexpensive fixes to the problems
my car had. Only after ruling those out we scheduled a
convenient time for me to drop off my car for inspection
and a test ride. Paul was ready for the test ride quickly,
and even dropped me off at home. They were always available
when I called, always clear on repair estimates, true to
their word, honest, and saved me lot of money! I have since
refered friends who were equaly happy with the work Paul
did for them.

Paul and his wife, Judy, have owned and operated their
business in the same location for many years. Paul believes
knowledgeable customers are good for business, and one way
he has helped customers become more knowledgeable has been
to offer classes on car maintenance through the University
of Tennessee's non-credit program. Paul and his mechanics
have worked on many of my family's vehicles over the years,
including a 1966 Chevy II and a 1981 Datsun 510, as well as
a Ford Explorer, a Ford Ranger, a Chevy Silverado and a
Toyota Corolla. They explain what's needed now and what can
wait, and they do good work at a reasonable price.

I was referred to Paul & Judy when I moved to Knoxville and
had car trouble for the first time. They fixed my brakes
and made them not screech, which is something that 2 Nissan
dealerships and several other independent shops could not
do for 7 years. I feel they are very honest, and after 3
visits, would trust them with any repair they thought
necessary. If there is anyone who can take the stress out
of car repairs, it's them! Would recommend them to anyone.

The professionals at Auto Technicians have repeatedly gone
the extra mile to ensure that our vehicles were safe and
reliable. I recommend their work without hesitation.
