Recently, my transmission began giving me some problems.
Lane at Ron's Muffler Shop recommended Parker's
Transmission for me. Having had very good experiences with
anything done at Ron's Muffler Shop, I decided to give
Parker's a try - even though are many transmission shops
much closer.
The building is typical for what you would expect of a
small auto shop, with one notable exception - the customer
waiting area was rather clean. I was greeted by Bobby, the
man who ended up doing the work on my transmission. I
explained the problem and he asked me questions to get more
information. He looked up my transmission on his computer
and then began to explain how my particular transmission
operates and told me about some common problems with that
model. He even went to a pile of spare parts so he could
show me exactly what he was talking about.
He gave me an up front, best case/worst case estimate. The
work was done in a very timely manner, and in the end, the
total cost was actually about $25 under his best case
estimate. When the work was finished, he explained
everything he had done and even showed me the faulty
solenoid that had caused most of my problems.
I received a detailed, computer printed invoice which
stated exactly which parts had been used, how much labor
had been charged, and how much had been charged for all of
those.
While I hope that I will not have any other transmission
problems, if I do, I will go to Parker's without
hesitation. I can wholeheartedly recommend them and hope
that if you are anywhere within a reasonable driving
distance of Iva, SC that you will take your vehicle to them
for your transmission needs. I can assure you that you will
be glad you did.
