Bill, the owner has been taken care of our 1988 Honda for the last 6 years. We have always been extremely happy with the work he has done and the manner in which it was handled. In the Hilton Head area it is extremely difficult to find a competent mechanic to work on older cars. His shop also works on antique cars and always seems to find parts to fix them. We have recommended Island Auto to 4 of our friends and they have also been extremely satisfied at Island Auto. You can tell by the number of cars in his garage and cars waiting to be fixed that there are also many other happy customers.

We were visiting my in-laws and were scheduled to leave the
next day when a piece of the heat shield on my wife's car
began to break free. Based on the locals recommendations, I
took the car into this shop and explained the situation and
asked if they could help. Despite the fact that the shop
was very, very busy, they quickly took care of the
problem. I was in and out of the shop in less than an
hour. I also had to insist that they let me pay at least
some fee for the work, as they did not want me to have to
pay for the little time and few simple parts they used. I
engaged with different employees while at the shop and all
of them (including the kid doing oil changes) were great.

My wife and I have been using Island Automotive
for a number of years. They are always spot on with
knowledge and repairs. I even offered to buy 4 new tires for an older
car and was told I only needed two . We will continue our loyalty!

Island Auto Service worked on my 2007 Jetta. A light on the dashboard indicated an emissions problem of some sort. They properly diagnosed the issue as two defective fan motors and explained it very well in layman's terms. They were able to acquire the parts and complete the repair in one day which was important to me. They also advised me that I need new tires, but I postponed that replacement until a later date. I will definitely recommend Island Auto Service to others and will use them in the future.
