Need AC repair on 1995 Honda-being from out of town I
checked Car Talk file. They repaired my car in timely
fashion-I had no other way to get home on time. They did
not put in extra, un-needed parts on or rip me off in any
way. The shop, waiting area, public bathroom were
spotless. The lady receptionist knows a great deal about
car repair herself. I would definitely use them again
when I am in Greenville, SC. PS: AC seems to be working
great now-needed a compressor but not the expansion valve
($165 a crooked shop would have added on.)

This shop is well known and respected in the Greenville
area. When I sold a car that was inspected by two
mechanics, potential buyers repeatedly wanted to know "And
what did the Japanese Auto Specialists say?" The shop is
clean, waiting room is modest but comfortable. Staff is
really friendly, but professional. Car ispections are
detailed and honest- they tell it to you straight, and
don't make you read between the lines or ask the "right"
questions. I trust these folks. As a young female who
takes care of her own car troubles, I give this shop my
highest recommendation.

I have dealt with these folks for several years now.
They are honest and just do what needs to be done and don't
recommend other unnecessary work.
They helped me out recently when a hose burned up and all
my transmission fluid leaked out. I went to them and they
fixed it right then and there.

The prices seemed reasonable, and the work fixed the noise
I had. I was in a hurry, so when it was late in the day
before they got the parts needed and got started, it seemed
like a long time. But really they got the work done fairly
quickly.

My daughter had car problems while at college in
Greenville. She has no mechanical knowledge and I called
Japanese Auto Specialists from where we live (MA). They
were very helpful and honest. (I had called another garage
in Greenville and they wanted to put in a used
transmission. Without even looking at the car they said
the transmission was the problem..) Japanese Auto helped
us with the towing arrangements and they had the car fixed
the next day. Total bill w/ towing was $272. A lot less
than a transmission!! The car has been running great ever
since! My daughter will definitely use them again if
needed.

They have maintained my Toyota, Lexus and Honda. They
performed extensive detailed buyers' check before I
purchased the Toyota and the Lexus. As was saved several
times from making a bad purchase based on their buyers'
check!!! As a single female it is important to find auto
care that's honest and professional. I highly recommend
this shop to anyone with a Japnanese car.

Recently inherited a 97 Lexus from grandmother. They did a
complete checkout on the car and fixed a few minor problems
for free.
Had to get climate control worked on and they started by
replacing the fan control. When that didn't fix the problem
they tried again, found the problem and fixed it at no
additional cost. They worked on the car for over 3 days
looking for the problem and in the end they only charged me
$363. The Lexus dealer had it for about the same amount of
time when my grandmother drove the car and they didn't even
come close to fixing it and they charge 3x as much.
Excellent, experienced, knowledgeable, honest and fair
mechanics. Would recommend to anyone with Japanese car.

Had trouble diagnosing bad alternator (immediately solved
by another mechanic), sold us bad battery (they eventually
replaced). Their prices are slightly better than dealer. I would recommend going to the dealer. Have
since heard from coworkers of other problems they've had
and moved on to other mechanics.
