Really nice owner and mechanics, competent, great service in a low key manner. Prices seem more than reasonable and great about helping out in an emergency/pinch.

I didn't shop around, so not sure their price is reasonable or not. you be the judge: 2 belts and alternator for a 2003 Mazda for $387.05 in RI. They did the job very quickly, communicated with me promptly. If I brought the car back to the dealer, typically I will have to call and harass them to get the status, George the owner called and told me the status. I'm happy with that!

Had an internship with them in high school, and really enjoyed the quality of work they showed in their care. I've seen ever kind of vehicle being diagnosed, fixed, and even assembled in the shop! I've seen classics to rare to super cars, and even a boat and a tractor. Can't imagine taking my car to anyone else (only when I can't fix it myself).

For 16 years I have been a customer at SCM. I bought two vehicles from them and they have since maintained them. First let me say that the owners are lovely, hard working people. Second, they are genuinely honest. Sometimes when I go for an oil change, George, one of the owners, will tell me that he is concerned about something but he tells me we don't need to fix it yet and not to start worrying. As someone who doesn't know a lot about cars, I find this very comforting. Third, they will explain things carefully so that I know why something has been done. Fourth, I don't live nearby and they try to complete the repair so my wait isn't endless. Fifth, I've taken the bus to pick up my car and the bus drops me about two blocks from their shop. Sixth, I think SCM has lots of loyal, pleased customers like me because whenever I'm there, the other customers greet the owners by name and seem to know them. So, if you need help with your car or have questions, I would highly recommend them to you. And I have recommended them to many people. I don't think they're inexpensive but I'm not sure because, and I'd like to explain, if I went to someone less expensive and they did a lousy job and I had to return several times and kept paying, I'd probably conclude that SCM isn't expensive because they do a good job the first time and I don't have to be anxious that that's not the case. At this point, I find that I write thank you notes to them after visits because they are so professional, gracious and knowledgable and I am relieved that I was lucky enough to stumble upon.
