This is the only mechanic I'll take a transmission problem to. A few years ago I was driving my wife's van and suddenly the transmission started slipping, just sounded horrible. Being relatively new to the area, but having heard about Tony's Auto I drove straight there, hoping I'd actually make it all the way to the shop. Mark said he'd take a look at it and I walked up to the Dunkin Donuts right up the block. About 15 minutes later my phone rang, and Mark said "come pick it up." What?? It was a loose wire or something, and he reconnected it and presto, done! Now, I had never been there before, and he could easily have said "guy, you need a new transmission" and I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead, he got me on my way in 15 minutes and didn't even charge me for the fix! Talk about a shop you want to work with! Since then, we've had a couple transmissions that have required repair, and needless to say there's only one place that gets my transmission business. He does other things too, but transmissions a specialty.

If you ever need an honest transmission repair, it's Tony's Transmission in Stroudsburg. $169. including tax and he found the problem and replaced the cooling line. He could've told me it was anything. I had suggested to him, my mechanic neighbor thought it was the torq seal, which would've required removing trans.
