Steve is awesome. He knows the answer to everything I've ever asked him, and just plain loves cars. He'll talk to you about anything relative to your car, other cars, the people in town, the service people who do or don't know what their doing, etc, etc. He will come get your car (wherever it is) and leave his behind while he road tests and/or looks at your car. Steve once did a brake job for me on a Friday night because his wife worked late and he needed something to do. Also gave me great advice when I felt like I was getting rooked by a Jeep dealer service department. I found him as a mechanic, but I think he's now a friend.

My daughter attends Kutztown University, her beloved 1998 Jetta GLi, AKA "Jimi" had some issues, the serp belt tensioner & belt were shot. As a loyal Car Talk listener (and having donated a Jeep through the VDP as well) I checked this site for a mechanic. My daughter got in touch with Steve, he worked in the PARKING LOT to avoid a tow charge, replaced the belt, tensioner and battery for a VERY reasonable cost (about what the parts would have cost me on line) AND, when I offered to pay with a credit card over the phone, just said to "send him a check" when my daughter comes home from school - I thought that level of service and trust were gone in this world - this gentleman restored my faith in human nature!
