Carpency's has always been top notch for me. I can't think of a single thing to complain about, and I've always felt like I was dealt with fairly and that the prices were reasonable. Couldn't recommend them more strongly.

Took my car here for the first time to half a simple throttle adjustment and Oil change. I was qouted $250 for the job. Went to pick my car up and they handed me a bill for $330. I live half a block up the street from this place and will never go there again. There are three other mechanics within a few blocks. I would rather take my car to a local blind monkey than here. Stay Away!!!

I moved to Fountain Hill 18 years ago, and Carpency's was 2 blocks from my house. So, for my first repair, I gave them a shot, and I haven't gone anywhere since. I have found them to always be reasonable, timely, honest, and competent. One time, on my 2006 Mazda Tribute, my alternator needed to be replaced. This is normally a repair I would do on my own, the placement of the alternator in this car is unusual, and difficult to access (near the firewall, under the engine). I asked them for an estimate (showing them where the alternator was so they were well aware of what they were getting into). They estimated 3 hours of labor. It ended up taking 8 hours of labor, but they stuck to the original estimate, telling me that they had underestimated and they'll chalk this up to a learning experience, as they had never replaced an alternator in this model vehicle. I have other similar experiences. Highly recommend.
