Mark and Wayne are both master mechanics and have each
specialized in Volvos for about 25 years.
They are usually booked for 2 weeks out, but every time that
they knew that it might be a safety issue (e.g. ABS) or that
i was in a big time crunch, they always managed to find some
time to do a quick diagnosis.
They're shop is very clean and very efficient. Both guys
are down to earth and they do not mind if you ask a lot of
questions and look over their shoulder.
Let me be clear: If you live in Beaverton or Tigard or West
Portland, M&W is THE best place to take your volvo. There
is no doubt. I have used them about 4 times (my car is
frequently sick) and will continue to use them as long as i
have a Volvo. This is a comment coming from someone who has
a huge distrust of mechanics, by the way.
I recommended Mark and Wayne to some friends that have a 99
cross country, and had been going to the dealer. They were
were pleased with M&W and are now converts as well.

It is now Mark and Darwin (yes, a mechanic named Darwin),
Wayne has retired (yes, a mechanic that has retired). The
work is the very best. These guys are the real deal.

My 1985 240 wagon will never see another shop. Mark and
Margret are great. There is a resaon why they are booked
up most of the time, though if you have a problem that
needs to be addressed immediately, he will find the time
to help. Only wish they were open Saturday. but who
doesn't.

Always enjoyed the experience of taking my car for repairs -
felt confident that I would not be taken advantage.

I've been using Mark and Wayne for 10 or more years. Both
are factory-trained, and do fabulous work. I had my first
tune-up with the local Volvo dealer- expensive disaster-
and then a friend turned me on to M&W when I had a brake
problem. They fixed it for 1/4 what Les Schwab wanted- by
fixing a component, rather than replacing an entire
assembly- and have always suggested ways to keep the car
running and save me money at the same time. They also have
a great line on parts- when my standard plastic Volvo
radiator went after 100,000 miles they replaced it with a
Danish all-copper tropical-duty ratidatior (has three rows
of fins rather than two) that can be rodded out (repaired)
for the life of the car- at less cost than the standard
plastic one! They located an installed an obscure cruise
control for my vintage Volvo last year when all the
suppliers said the item just wasn't obtainable anymore.
They will see established customers immediately whenever
they have an emergency. They stand behind their work and
are just a nice couple of guys- it's a pleasure to listen
to them work in the shop and share info with each other.
They only work on Volvos, and obviously really like them.
