In the course of one month, I brought two different
vehicles to Ger-Brock with persistent problems that other
mechanics had mis-diagnosed as major problems. Don and his
team were able to diagnose both problems correctly and fix
each one for an extremely reasonable price. They could
easily have sold me on more extensive repair charges and
they didn't. I am borderline paranoid regarding auto
mechanics due to many bad experiences. I now have a
competent, honest shop to use and that is a good feeling.

Ger-Brock is great. They only charge for the repair time,
not some bogus per job time like dealers and some
independents. They also fix things right the 1st time!

I have used this shop for over 20yrs, I started going there in '81 w/my first Honda. I have purchased 2 more Hondas since so that I could continue using this shop. They do work on all Japanese models. It is owned by a woman who has diagnosed my car over the phone (sound like anyone you know!) and always been correct. I have taken all three of my kids cars to GerBrock and have recommended the shop to at least a dozen friends and have never heard a complaint. I agree w/a prior statement about not doing work that is not necessary. I was convinced I needed to replace my clutch and they told me they would tell me when I needed that, they did, 40,000 miles later.

I have a 1999 Toyota Corrolla with, at the time, about
97,000 miles on it. For about 2 to 3 months I had a
clicking noise that increased with velocity and occured
mostly when I was driving in a straight line, and it seemed
to be coming from one of my front tires. My first thoughts
were that it might be the drive axle, except that that the
noise actually seemed to diminish when i turned the wheel
to go around a corner.
I took my car into Les Schwab twice to try and figure it
out first. Their guess was that a small rock had gotten
into the hubcap. We took off all the hubcaps to remove any
rocks, but the noise continued. Then I took it to the
dealer, thinking that since they sold me the car they
should know what's wrong with it. They believed that it
was either the wheel bearings or my drive axle, and that
they would recommend changing both (at a very exorbitant
price!).
Before deciding to do significant work on my car, I
received a recommendation from a friend to try Gerr-Brock's
here in Portland, Oregon. I decided this would be my last
attempt and then I would try to figure out how to pay for
some significant expenses on car repairs. I am so glad I
went to see them--they drove it around with two repair
workers in it to try and narrow down where the sound was
coming from. They realized it was simply that the front
right tire had loose nuts!! They tightened them, and all of
the service was free. And it has been two months since
that service, and no problems whatsoever. They saved me
signigicant money right before Christmas, and I am so
grateful! I thought about making them cookies to thank them
(which hopefully someday I will still do), but this is also
another thing I wanted to do to thank them--listing them on
my favorite talk show! Thank you for this venue Tom and
Ray, and thank you so much to the folks at Gerr-Brock's!

Great Shop. Honest people, reasonable prices. They don't try to get you to do
repairs that doesn't need to be done. I would highly recommend them to anyone
needing repairs on Japanese cars cause that is what I have.

Ger-Brock has worked on three cars for me over about a 20
year period - 2 Toyotas and 1 Subaru. They are good
listeners and question-askers and that leads to good
problem solving. When I've had a problem they don't
typically deal with they have referred me to good
specialists. I've refered a number of people to Ger-Brock
and know that they've provided reliable, reasonable, and
pleasant service to my friends, too.

Don, Sean and the others have been working on my Japanese
cars for 20+ years and I have never had anything to complain
about.
