I had an absolutely terrible experience with Bob and his shop. He was hard to communicate with (every time we finished a planning/ scheduling conversation, he had me call again rather than calling me back) and was impatient with me when explaining things. The total went way over his estimate, which I only found out when I came to pick up the car, and Bob refused to provide an invoice, saying that he was significantly undercharging me. On top of all of that, I found out later that he and his shop did an incomplete and shoddy job repairing my carburetor. When I called later to express dissatisfaction, Bob suggested that it was my driving that was prolonging the problem, but when my uncle and I opened the carburetor to see what the issue was, wires and hoses were not connected and the choke was adjusted carelessly.
I completely and wholly regret going there and spending the money for that repair. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of mechanics who know about carburetor repair and I wasn't savvy enough to find someone else able to rebuild mine. If I had been older (and likely, male) I'm sure the outcome would have been slightly different, but, unfortunately, here we are.
