We have a long story and a short version. The short version is that Kerr's rescued my family of 4 by fixing our car. Here are some details: we drove down to California for a wake/memorial service and stayed in Gold Beach at a friend's house. The car was making ominous clunking/grinding noises in the morning. The car was probably making the noises the day before but we didn't really hear it. Our friend recommended the Chevron in town, but they were short staffed due to a mechanic injury. They referred me to Kerr's and said they were very good. I was super worried because my husband had to be at work the next day. I couldn't be happier with the service that Kerr's provided. They took the tire off and discovered that the bearings were completely shot, as in ground to a pulp. The owner drove down to Brookings to get us a new wheel and hub assembly so that we could get on the road in time to make Portland before dinner. He only charged 20 bucks for the part delivery and I doubt that even covered gas he burned since it's roughly 60 miles round trip and there was road construction and tourist traffic. It's no fun to be broken down on the road at the mercy of whatever place you limp into, but they treated us like family.
