I have a 1999 Honda so it's mainly been oil changes. For regular maintenance (30,000) they quoted me a price based on what's required (not suggesting add-ons) and the price was $100 under the dealer and $50 under another mechanic (who suggested a tune-up. Luckily I read your advice.)

We have used John Mason's shop for several years for our '86 GMC van, 2000 Prism, a Honda accord and Buick Regal. The service is always amzingly fast, no b.s., and very reliable. We were directed there by a friend and have referred several others. Never have heard a bad story.

John regularly fixes cars for many of my family members.
He's always done things the "right way" (as in
trustworthy). My 3 year old nephew was in an elevator and
overheard someone say that their car was having problems.
He looked up at them and told them to take it John - he'll
fix it. I thought that was a pretty good recommendation!

Certified has taken care of my family's vehicles for over
10 years. Everything from timing belts, axle replacement to
routine oil changes. If its not broken they don't fix it.
If it's something that's mildly broken but not critical to
safety or operation they will advise the price and
consequences of not fixing it and let you decide. After you
drop off the vehicle John always calls with the diagnosis
and price before proceeding. There are never any surprises.
Oh yeah one more thing, once it fixed it stays fixed.

This mechanic is completely trustworthy. He never proceeds
without explaining the diagnosis and his plan plus estimated
cost. The service is speedy quick. The place is clean and
orderly, I believe it reflects the overall philosophy of
business there. I even asked about tire replacements there
at one visit, and he told me that I probably had another
30,000 miles on the existing tires. He discouraged me from
replacing the tires at that time.

John was my neighbor for years. If i had a flat tire, I
would take if off & he would take it & return it after he
fixed. I knew him when he worked for Firestone @ 61st &
Lewis area. I also drove to Broken Arrow when he had shops
there. He will also call if there is additional problem. He
is a good family man & very honest. His employees are very
competent.

The owner is straight up and to the point, which as a female
customer I very much appreciate. I showed him the
recommended Toyota maintenance schedule menu for 50K, 60K,,
etc miles and was very happy when he went line by line and
explained what each item was and how many on the list were
redundant and not needed, which i suspected. He changes my
oil every 3000 miles and never has he tried to sell me any
additional services, and I really appreciate that, he's
honest.
