I've known Steve since high school. He's a very interesting and unusual guy, in addition to being an excellent mechanic. He's intellectually curious (when you drop off your car in the am, you'll hear Morning Edition playing in the background) and this extends to figuring out why your car is not working properly. Dishonesty and overcharging are simply not in his character. These comments extend to everyone I've dealt with at Larchmere, too. Extra added bonus points: this is the only repair shop I've been to with a female mechanic!

John Negus has the uncommon ability to explain to the owner what the problem is, and how it can be fixed,(including costs), so that the automotive illiterate can understand. He never talks down to folks. He is the best!

Larchmere Imports has done extensive mechanical work on both my DeLorean and my wife's Porsche. We have always been very satisfied with their work on these complex cars. In fact we were delighted to find them, as they managed to undo damage that was done to the DeLorean by another shop that botched a simple repair. We have found them to be dedicated and hard working, on some days we have seen the shop open long after their posted hours. Be aware that they are never open on weekends. We only wish we could find such a good shop for our domestic car.

All the people who work there are friendly and helpful which makes the visits very pleasant. They seem to really know what they are doing and if, on the rare occasions they don't know, they tell you. The shop radio is also tuned to NPR!
