This mechanic is well-organized, laid back, and extremely competent. He ran the shop mostly alone until taking his sons in within the past year. Since I have no one to take me to and from his shop, he allows me to use a car of his for the day. This is a Toyota Camry with 136,000 miles on it. It won't win any drag races or beauty contests, but it always gets me where I'm going. Doug took time on two occasions to trouble shoot a "burnt popcorn" smell for me - no appointment. On the third try, he was able to find the seeds the chipmunks were carrying onto my warm engine from my birdseed stock. Guess they wanted a warm restaurant! Doug blew out the seeds with his compressor, & I went home and covered my seed supply better. No hassle, and best of all, no charge! Doug Talbot consistently goes out of his way for long-time loyal customers. I bought my Camry on his recommendation.

After our regular mechanic retired, Talbot's was recommended to us. They are efficient and explain things clearly. The prices are reasonable and they will diagnose your problems for free. I highly recommend them!

I have mixed feelings about this place based on the mechanics I have worked with here. Doug seems to be a good mechanic; however, Robert is another story. I took my car into their shop to have the timing belt and water pump replaced and the shop damaged my car to the point they had to send out the heads to a machine shop to be repaired. As if messing up my car wasn't bad enough they took a week to own up to it and tried to stall me with a bogus story about losing the bolts to put my engine back together. They have also taken more than 7 weeks to repair my car which is still not completed! Robert spent two weeks trying to diagnos and fix his mistake and another three weeks to send my engine parts to be repaired. Every week for the past 7 weeks I have been told my car would be finished that next week and I am given some half-assed excuse such as "the bolts are rusty" or "that's just how it's turned out" as reasons why my car is not ready. While they have admitted their mistake and are reimbursing me for my rental car and are covering the machine shop costs; the way they have handled my car has been unacceptable and I felt a duty to warn others.
