I went in for an oil change. They persuaded me into getting new brake pads. Fine. I used to only take my car to toyota dealerships but decided to take it to Grismer because it's right by my work AND i thought it could save me a few bucks. Three months later my "oil" light comes on and my engine makes a weird noise. Take it to an NTB by my home (which I didn't know was there until about a week ago)and when they openned the car they found out that it had NO OIL FILTER. They told me the last place that changed the oil probably didn't screw the filter all the way and it fell off and I had no oil in my car. Could not start it or else the engine would die. There's possible damage in the engine, but that remains to be seen. Had grismer tow my car from NTB. They "fixed" their mistake, but there's a risk my engine might have suffered, so I have to watch for trouble for the next 10K miles or so. Huge headache. The manager at Grismer told me maybe someone at my condo took the filter out to hurt me (!!!). Chances of that hapening are next to nilch. I get along with my neighbors and live in a great neighborhood. They are, understandably, trying to cover their behinds. I know to err is human and blablablah, but this rookie mistake is a huge annoyance, not to mention costly. Obviously, if something happens to my engine, I expect them to cover it, but it doesn't change the headache part. Not to mention that I can't trust that they do great work when they can't even screw the filter on properly. The oil change 3 months ago was my first time there and, after the "fixed problem", if we are lucky, they won't be hearing from me again ever.

I have never had a problem at Grismers. They've done the needed repairs and recommended the work that will need to be done in the not TOO distance future. My vehicle has 89,000 miles on it now and I expect to do repairs as I intend to keep it as long as possible.

Took the car in for noise in right front area. "Replaced" an expensive part, and told me that steering was badly in need of complete replacement. Took it back when same problem occurred. They "replaced" the part with a new one. Same problem. Took it to new mechanic because I was not sure. This man said that one part of the steering needed replaced, not the whole thing. And he told me that the part they did "replace" looked old. I can't trust them anymore.
