I wasn't sure about how they guarantee their work - I've never had a problem. I also don't know what ASE is, so can't answer that question. Pat (the owner) sometimes works with his son, Joe. These guys are always honest, and their work is great. And, they are intelligent (unfortunately not always true of car mechanics, don't mean to be elitist). They care about their customers. I've been using them for over 25 years. I recommend them in the highest terms.

Took my car to Dom's auto repair in Westbury yesterday to have him check out my blower for my heat, defroster, etc. It was intermittently working and I didn't want to take a chance on it going when my windshield was frozen. For the heck of it, my wife suggested I also ask that he look at my A/C. This past June, my A/C died (of course :) ). When I took it to Honda City in Bethpage, they told me the condenser and the coil were shot; basically, I had to replace the A/C. Cost? $1700. Now I had 185,000 miles on my van and no job at the time, so I told him to forget it. (rolling down the windows and driving very fast was a better option) Now, here's the best part... Pat over at Dom's, checked out my A/C and told me that all it needed was refrigerant; nothing wrong with the A/C. In total, the blower and the A/C cost me $425 for parts / labor. If you need an HONEST mechanic, Dom's in Westbury (on Post Ave) is the place to go. When my "check engine" light came on the day before my inspection was due last year, they simply cleaned the crud off a solenoid that was causing the fault (instead of replacing it for about $400) and got it passed. Honda? I pretty much had to replace the gas tank. Seems the area around the gas cap was "worn". For the record, I'd steer clear of Honda City. I can't post what I think of them (but it ends in bags) ;)
