I unhesitatingly recommend Kevin and his crew at Foreign Car Specialists. I have been using their shop for nearly 30 years, through three 'generations' of owners/chief mechanics, and they have worked on VW, Honda, Toyota, Ford, Mazda and Subaru for me. I have recommended their shop to dozens and dozens of others, and always heard great feedback on the quality of service and repairs. They are personable, accommodating, friendly, and very, very knowledgeable. They will fit in quick, but crucial diagnoses and repairs at a moment's notice. Kevin's knowledge makes him the obvious understudy for Click and Clack! ... Kevin, you just have to learn to pronounce it, "Caahh". If this was the only shop you ever used, and you met someone who told you to be wary of car mechanics, you'd look at that guy like he was from Pluto.

I would (and do!) highly recommend Foreign Cars to my friends. Kevin, the owner, is a hard-working, very honest and concientious guy who spends more time and detail than even I want explaning to me what the problem was and how they fixed it. They'll do little repairs at the last minute for almost nothing, and they never, never try to push any repairs on me, and only alert me to problems I might want to look out for in the future, but very rarely do they say I need to fix them now. They have a very low-key, laid-back approach to car repair, and they've kept my cars in great shape over the 6 years I've gone to them.

I do almost all my own repairs, including timing belts and other "bigger" maintenance or repair jobs. If I don't have the time or can't justify the investment in a specialized tool required for a job I go to Kevin (Shane is usually at the desk). As stated above - honest, knowledgeable (although I once was consulted by them on an arcane bit of procedure re a rather oddball engine, I own one, Kevin/Shane knew this and called me, this it to their credit since he is one of the most knowledgeable mechanics I have ever met and I got a bit of an ego boost when he did his best "we're not worthy" bow), communicative, accommodating. They work on everything - tractors to air cooled VW's.
