It's expensive, since it's a dealer, but they've fixed every problem I brought to them. They didn't charge me once for a minor repair (moving a dust shield out of the way). Sometimes they seem too busy to fully explain everything though. Also the only shop in the area that aligned my car properly.

Honda of Ithaca does what one should expect from a dealership- competent and knowledgeable. They seem to know what they are doing, they repair it properly the first time, and are nice to work with. I have not found them to be particularly cheap for their work, although on occasion they are comparable or less to non-dealerships, which is encouraging (or it means others are too expensive). Further, in the "you get what you pay for" department, value man be measured in the quality of the work, not necessarily the lowest price. Also free candy by the cashier.

I had a terrible experience after bringing my car in for a routine timing belt replacement. They incorrectly installed the timing belt (3 teeth off), and the car pinged and sounded terrible. When I asked them to fix it, they charged me for further repairs (replacement of the camshaft, rocker arms) and never even fixed the timing belt. I finally had another mechanic put the timing belt on with the correct timing, and the car runs fantastic. Unfortunately, Honda of Ithaca refuses to refund me for the their botched job.

The older reviews on this site aren't necessarily relevant anymore - the body shop manager at Honda of Ithaca, Jack, is new as of August 2013. I have had two experiences at Honda of Ithaca body shop; first, the shop repaired a dent in the side of my Fit (over the front driver's side wheel) caused by another car backing into it. Jack managed everything with the other driver's insurance, and the repair was so good I had trouble remembering which side was damaged when I came to pick the car up. The second experience was not a repair per-se, but shows how friendly and helpful the manager, Jack, is. The windshield wiper fluid provided by the dealership I bought the car from (not in Ithaca) froze up in the brutal cold of Ithaca winters. I was able to bring in the car the day after I discovered this problem, and Jack defrosted the fluid with a hot hose and then drained it so it could be replaced. Although this was a somewhat ridiculous problem to have, Jack did not make any comments and did not ask to be paid for his time. I would definitely recommend the Honda of Ithaca body shop.
