The crew at Larry's Foreign Auto Service are true professionals. I've received the best car service at the best prices from these mechanics. Ever since I found this shop about 6 years ago, it's the only place I've taken my last two cars. Great work on Volvos and I know they also specialize in Mazdas, Hondas and cars by a few other foreign makers. I've never had to wait too long for work to be done on my car and with a bus stop across the street, I am able to drop my car off and take the bus to pick it up.

I stopped by Larry's without an appointment, during the lunch hour, one day this week with a trunk wide open. Larry stopped what he was doing had me pull into the garage. He PERSONALLY repaired the latch and had me back on the road in 5 minutes. Then he shook my hand and said Merry Christmas. I have been a satisfied customer of Larry's on more significant repairs, but a gesture like that was so pleasant because as customers we don't expect it. I'll be a customer of Larry's until he tells me to get rid of this car and you can be sure I'm telling all my friends.

If your seeing all of the positive reviews these guys have gotten and thinking, "wow, they must be really good!" - then you would be right. This is a shop of great guys who really know their Toyotas (and other foreign cars). They (mostly Steve) always take the time to stop and talk to you about what is going on with your car (not a sex-biased thing at all either - I'm a woman). In fact, the only problem with the shop is that it is sometimes hard to get them on the phone. That is primarily because Steve does most of the customer interaction and he likes to talk to people about their cars. So, leave a message or just stop by to make your appointment - then you can talk to Steve at length about your car.

Larry's is the best mechanic I've ever had for my two VOLVOs. They are honest, knowledgable and patient with female customers. I always feel confident that I will get excellent service at Larry's. I have to relocate for a new job in downstate NY, but I will definitely try my best to stay with Larry's! JL March 2004

The best thing about Steve and Larry is that you can go in with a problem and if you don't need a lot of work done, they will tell you. This makes it much easier to trust them when they say you do need work done.

These guys are great! When I moved to Albany a co-worker strongly encouraged me to go because he went there, and I am forever grateful. They know their stuff and have always taken the time to explain what's wrong and a little bit about how the car works in the process. They made up for the fact that my Dad wasn't mechanical and didn't pass on any car knowledge. They explained things in plain language enough for me to evaluate on my own whether to do the work so I always felt comfortable with whichever way I went. I have never been unhappy with any work they did. I always felt like I received value for what I paid. Knowing price was an issue for me, they were always willing to take the car in, look it over and discuss how critical a problem was or was likely to become in time. They once steered me to a local junkyard to save money on a part by doing it myself. I came in once with a blinker problem and they took pity on me and just gave me a spare bulb. Being real car fans I'm sure that they had a hard time understanding my willingness to drive a rusting heap, but they only mildly rib me. With their help, I have kept my 1988 Honda running for several years beyond when I expected to have to sell it and putting what would have been payments for another car in the bank.

I was recommended to Larry's by a friend. Have taken my Volvo and Honda Odyssey to them since. I have never been disappointed. In fact, I always walk out of there with confidence knowing that my vehicle has been well taken care of, all problems have been fixed, no unnecessary repairs, etc. Have mostly dealt with Steve. He is just great! I am now moving to Louisville and am somewhat worried that my cars won't be taken care of as well as they have been here for the past 3 years.

Steve and Larry have been servicing our family's hondas (2) and mazdas (2) for over 10 years. Never had a problem, cars always fixed right the first time. You get what you pay for: a car that gets fixed without B.S., hassles or delays. All you could want from a mechanic.
