My wife and I have taken four different models(Ford,Dodge,Subaru,Mercury) to Carpenter's over the past seven years. They have taken care of us on short notice. On one occasion they repaired the car and told us to drive it for a few days before paying for the repair. Chuck and Bill always did only what was needed. Very honest and friendly. I wish they had moved to Wisconsin with us.

These guys are without equal, honest, kind, patient, and do excellent work. Bill even brushed off my car when I picked it up. (I offered marriage, but he pointed out that I was married--I had forgotten for a minute.) Our 1990 Volvo that had many, many issues when we bought it (don't try to replace the ceiling lightbulb--it smokes!) has been patiently repaired by Carpenter's when we owned it and now that it has gone to our 18 year old friend of the family--runs like a top now. You will never have better mechanic.

They have been fixing our cars for 25 years. They are reliable, expert at their job and friendly. They guarantee their work. Bill replaced a remanufactured generator after more than 6 months...No Charge! He said: "It should have lasted longer than that!!!. Also no complaints when they replaced a mangled tire. No charge! We trust them and are happy that they are in the neighborhood. They even loaned me a gear puller so I could change my own timing chain about 15 years ago. If there's a "Click and Clack Appreciation Award"? They deserve it!

We stopped by in a heavy downpour with a wiper blade that was flapping against the window instead of wiping back and forth. We expected to have to replace it, but Bill fixed it and sent us on our way without a charge.

These guys are the best. If you are looking for a mechanic you can trust this is the place to go. The only surprise I've ever received is when the price is less than I had it in my mind. Their facility (an ex-Arco gas station I think) isn't exactly state of the art but the guys working in it are.

Been using this shop for work on my cars for several years. Always found the guys to be fair and really honest when it comes to what work was needed and the prices charged seemed reasonable. The last few times I had work done (mostly front end work) the prices charged for parts was really much higher than I expected. When I checked around with auto parts places, I found the same parts they were using for less then 10% of what they charged me for the same part. Now, I know they have to have a markup on the part, but $246 for a part you can buy for $24 seemed a bit excessive. Their work is great, and they don't keep your car forever, but if you do business with them, watch the parts cost.
