Putnam is the BEST! I've been taking cars to Putnam now for over ten years, and I have recommended many friends and relatives to the shop. People are always impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, and the cleanliness of the work space! Joe and Breeze are courteous, efficient, and most of all, HONEST! (I had bad experiences with other mechanics, so I know the difference.) Most jobs finished the same day you bring the car to them. The shop has been in operation at the same location for 58 years - the experience shows. These guys love cars! Bring them a vintage model, and watch them drool!

Regarding that survey question about screwing something up - they DON'T screw up! These guys really know what they're doing. They are honest, do the work quickly, and don't treat me like I'm ignorant because I am female. They clearly explain the problem and the repair. Highly recommended!

I took my old, old, old 1991 Volkswagen Jetta to them because I was ready to junk it. It was stalling, hesitating and had become dangerous to drive. Joe fixed it in hours for a very reasonable price. I was very impressed. He knew tricks for fixing the car that most mechanics don't know. He was courteous, honest and very pleasant to deal with. They have been in the neighborhood for more than 40 years and are great!

The alarm on my 1995 Ford Bronco failed, and they were the only shop even willing to take a look at it. Joey took the car in that day, and it was ready two hours later. They charged me much less than I expected and completely solved the problem. I would recommend them without hesitation.

This is by far the shadiest business in NYC. Brake job done was extremely over priced and the job was never done correctly. They badly squeak to this day. Had an engine mount done and it was broken after less than 3 months. Had a one year warranty parts and labor that wasn't honored. The owner Joe Iannarelli was extremely unprofessional and belligerent towards me. Totally ripped me off. I've been in contact with an attorney and I'm currently pursuing legal action against this man and his company. Do yourselves a favor and do not do business with this hustler. Very Dissatisfied Very Disrespectful
