These two guys have a small shop, but have built up a client bas eby being honest. I have watched them many times working on others cars, and have nevr seen them try to steer anybody wrong.

After reading the reviews on this site I brought my 1991
Ford Escort GT to them for a state inspection, as I have
just inherited the car from family. I told Tony to check
the transmission fluid b/c I thought it was a bit over
filled and I didn't think it was ever cleaned out. Also, I
told him to also check out and see if it needs a tune-up.
When I came to pick it up, it had passed inspection and he
stated that everything on the car was in good condition,
that my master cylinder was new, the tranny fluid was at
the right level and the spark plugs and distributer cap
were in good condition, therefore no work other than the
inspection was necessary (on a 16 y.o. car). They could
have charged me for parts and labor I didn't need but what
did they do? They charged me the state inspection fee and
$10 for evaluation. What honest and reliable guys.

I had a loud noise coming from below the car that I was
worried would be an expensive fix. When I called a few
hours later it was a simple rattling from the AC unit that
cost me 25$. It was a relief in many ways and I couldn't
have felt better about how they handled it.

I drive a beat up 1994 Buick century that Gus and Tony have
inspected a few times and replaced batteries, brakes,
alternators and fixed alignment. They know my car is a
"dinosaur" as Tony puts it, so don't try to fix things that
won't be worth it in the long run. This makes me trust that
they're honest, they've actually said, "we could do this,
but it's not really necessary." Their main interest is to
just keep the car safe enough to drive. I also feel like
they don't treat me like an idiot because I'm a woman. I
feel comfortable calling Gus and Tony and bring my clunker
in whenever I have to.

These guys are - as the other reviewers have said - an outpost of integrity, competence, and friendly enough. Gave me solid work, on time. Just a radiator replacement & oil change - but they also checked a couple other things I had asked about - and when all said and done, I think I saved $100 by using G & T instead of some other mechanics I've had experience with in the area. (BTW, google map is wrong; they are about 1 mile south of Astoria Blvd.)
