Being new to Albuquerque, several people recomended Foreign Aide as a good independant. They are small and somewhat difficult to find, but the service more than makes up for it. Whenever I've had an emergency repair, they have always gotten my Audi 4000 repaired by the next day, if not the same day. They always explain exactly what went wrong and what needs fixed, as well as show you the old part so you can see how bad the part was and that they are not cheating you into buying parts you don't need. One time they did order the wrong part (for a quattro 4000, my is FWD), and to make up for it, they paid for same day shipping from California in order to get it done as quickly as possible. They did this at no cost to me. They also gave me for FREE an Audi 4000 Chilton's repair manual so I could do simple repairs myself.

I'm one of those crazy individuals who still thinks that the aircooled VW is/was and will always be just a damn good idea. Alex, Debbie and Paul know my car inside and out, make honest recommendations for service and most importantly, don't laugh at the idea of keeping a 40 year old Karmann Ghia on the road. Tom and Ray suggest that you don't have someone work on your car who's younger than your car! These guys aren't getting any youner! Mark - Albuquerque

The absolute worst car repair service I've been to in 50 years. They don't fix things right the first time. They mark up parts they receive from other vendors. They make major mistakes that others have to fix. If you are looking for reliable, honest, competent car repair, look elsewhere - believe me.
