I moved to Central/South Jersey about 4 years ago and since
then have used 3 or 4 repair shops recommended by friends,
but for one reason or another, I did not find any of them
satisfactory. Then a relative told me about Leisure Village
Service Center, who he has been using for the past 7 years.
I refuse to let the dealer service my car, as I feel they
overcharge and perform work that is unnecessary. LVSC has
been a family-owned shop since the mid 60's. They do general
maintenance and all types of repairs, and they are honest,
competent and charge less than the dealer. What more can a
car owner ask for? If you live in the Lakewood, NJ area, I
definitely recommend them.

I had a noise coming from the front end that another
garage had many numerous (and costly) attempts to remedy,
all to no avail.
Being a trusting individual (and possibly, no make the
definitely a slow learner) I realized i was getting
screwed by these guys (think Deliverance, the movie)...
i asked at a local gas station that didn't repair cars if
they could recommend someone who was Honest. The owner of
the station suggested I try Leisure Village Service
Center.
I was more than pleased with what I found. The last
mechanic said that I needed a new rack (rack and pinion)
which would be about $500.00. The guys at Leisure Village
Service Center, found the problem was in the spindle.
They fixed the car in a timely manner and I have
subsequently been bringing the car to them for various
minor things (check brakes, rotate tires, etc.) They are
incredible friendly and definitely honest.
I would highly recommend them.
If you use their services and you are pleased with them,
Billy (part owner and main mechanic) enjoys a good cigar.
On occasion, I come in with a small job, i.e. rotating
tires etc. and he'll do the job for free... i in turn brng
him a few good stogies...
I can't guarantee he'll do this for you...
We are both aging hippies, with pony tails and memories of
426 hemis, 440 six packs and of course my classic 1968
Black Goat (GTO - 400CI HO engine, posi rear...etc.)

I moved to Jackson, NJ about 5 years ago, and spent the
first 4 years looking for a competent, honest, reliable
mechanic who charges a fair price. I'm not necessarily
looking for a cheap price, but neither do I want to get
ripped off, which is easy to do with car mechanics. I tried
about 5 different places and was not happy with any of them.
Then a relative recommended Leisure Village in Lakewood, so
I gave it a shot. Although it's a 20 minute drive for me, it
was (and is) well worth it. These guys are honest,
competent, friendly and charge a reasonable price. They are
definitely less expensive than the dealer, who does
unnecessary work and charges an arm and a leg. I know
Leisure Village is honest because I asked them to change a
part (air filter) and they told me that the one in there was
still good. I highly recommend this shop and as far as I'm
concerned, finding a good auto mechanic is now one less
thing I have to worry about.

Like Tony, Bill & Don, they are polite, patient, have great sense of humoor and are very honest. I do like this shop. The gas pump jockies are also great people!

They do try and get it right most times. BUT when you make an appointment then find out 3 days later thatr they haven't started work on the car it is unacceptable. This has happened more the once. Why do I go back? because there are no other shops anywhere newr wher I live.
