Highly recommended. We had a problem while I was passing through town, and they were totally honest & professional.

I come from a family of mechanics (Grandfathers, Uncle and Dad), and I grew up in service stations, and I know a bit about car repair myself (first car was an MG Midget). I have had a few good mechanics in my years. I have never met anyone like Andy. He is as all have said, honest, competent, courteous and reasonable. Two quick Andy stories: I am driving my wife's car, hit a curb and blow a tire. I go in the glovebox for the key to the locking lugnut. Not there, not in the trunk, not anywhere. I remember that Andy's shop installed the tires last time I bought them, so I call him. He says they don't have it anywhere in the shop, am I sure it isn't in the glovebox, and then says "I'll send a guy over." Kid shows up with a cordless pneumatic drill thinking he can bust the lock loose--only he looks and says "Mister, there's no locks on these wheels..." At this instant, I remember deciding to leave them off a few years earlier, when I was convinced no one would steal the wheels off my wife's minivan. The guy changes the tire and then tells me THERE IS NO CHARGE! (I gave him money for his time). Two years ago, I was driving my Acura down a winding road, when smoke starts pouring out of it and the oil light comes on. It's a narrow road, and I am an idiot, so I decide to try to nurse it home (5 miles). I get it there, pull up to the curb, and see a few drops of oil leak out. Check and the crankcase is bone dry. Andy tows it in, and I say to my wife, "I am totally at the mercy of this guy. If he says I need a new engine, I can't say a word--I drove the car with no oil!" Andy calls me and says, "Man, are you lucky--the drain plug came out (Andy did not do the oil change), and when we refilled it, it ran fine. You don't need any work at all." When I picked myself off the floor, I thanked him and asked him what I owed him. He said, "Well, I really didn't do any work. You don't owe me anything." I got him to take money for the oil and the tow. This is just the kind of guy Andy is. I am happy to know him and happy to recommend him to anyone. You couldn't be disappointed with this guy.

I found out about this place from reading the reviews here. I've been going here for a few years now. The good reviews are true. Andy Schrank and his staff are very knowledgeable and do great work. This is the most honest and least expensive mechanic I've ever had. You'll know what I mean after coming here a few times, great place to fix or take care of your car.
