I brought my VW to Pep Boys because they gave me a low quote to have my CV axles replaced. Big istake. When I got the car back, the car pulled to the right really bad and the whole car shook going down the road. I couldn't believe they would give a car back to a customer like this. I took the car to another repair shop and they found that the boots on both new cv axles were torn and basically it was as easy to do the work over again than just replace the cv boots. The car also needed a new alignment because the settings had been monkeed with by Pep Boys. When I complained to Pep Boys, they said I should have brought the car back to them to be fixed, but I told them I was afaid to do that because I thought they didn't know what I was doing. I had to dispute the money paid to Pep Boys with my credit card company, but I got it all back in the end. What I learned was not to bring my car to people that basically change tires and sell air freshners for a living.
