I had taken my Ford Explorer to Meineke's because of a
problem I was experiencing with the rear end. It had a
sound like a tree branch was stuck in it and play in the
breaks with a wobbly tire(s). I was told I had a bad wheel
bearing and since it was a holiday weekend, the quote of
around $600. to fix it was finally $1,700.00. My friend
said I should ask Larry about it since it was so much more
than they said. Well, Larry (personally) took the invoice
and checked to see that they did the work they billed me
for, then he checked the prices on the parts installed and
work done and said that Meineke was pretty satisfied with
their prices!! He could have done the same job for about a
third of the price. Anyway, the real interesting part is
that this particular problem seems to be something that
nobody ever needs to have done, though Meineke say they do
it all the time. I had had the car into Meineke the
preceding weekend because of a problem with the window
which would not work. The car is a Ford Explorer 2002 which
has really been basically maintenance free it has over
100,000 miles on it. I told Larry, since he did not charge
me to look at the work, checked on prices and was otherwise
very nice, that I would write you and recommend him and
hope he gets lots of business and I will take my car to him
for anything from now on even an oil change.
