My experiences with the shop and the owner ( john ) has been one of the best expiriences u can get from a repair shop.John "the onwer" will do more than einought to make me happy with the repairs he didnt have any problems with me bring my own parts and when i check him out for parts , his prices where honest he wasnt looking to make a "KILLING" like most places try.

They took plenty of time to explain the work to be done, checked other maintenance items and made honest recommendations (I take care of the basic maintenance of the car - oil changes, brakes, spark plugs etc.) and they really only identified what I knew needed being done outside of the work I asked them to perform. They are extremely courteous and have followed up with me to ensure my satisfaction. I have finally found a place in wakeforest I TRUST!.

The whole shop is composed of people who are just plain excellent. I wouldn't let anyone else touch any of my vehicles. They are trustworthy without question.

I'm always skeptical of going to a new mechanic as I've found most of them to be crooks. I had a problem with our Cavalier that neither Chevrolet nor Pepboys could track down and cost me nearly $300 to fix things that aparently weren't broken. John found the problem with minimal effort and told me exactly what he was going to do and did it same day. Parts and labor, $180. Not that I want to have to take the car to a mechanic, but should I need to it WILL be them!

I know cars. My first degree was in Auto Mechanics and I had my own shop restoring old cars. A BS-ED degree allowed me to teach high school Physics. A BS-ME made me a mechanical engineer. I don't have time to work on our 5 family cars. I only trust John Velon at "Import Quality Repairs" with our cars. When you find a mechanic that is knowledgeable and honest-- you keep him I drive 30 miles one way to get to his shop. For the past 11 years and I hope for many more. Steve Outlaw

I must say that the service was excellent. The own always smiles and explains everything he did with my car and always lets me know when or if I have any more issues with it. And, I want to say thank you, Car Talk, to have this nice person on your website.

John has saved my butt on more then one occasion, took my Durango in for new plugs and got a call from him telling me he checked all 8 (but they weren't normal spark plugs apparently) and there was no need to replace...and no charge for that work. On another occassion an issue baffled him but he was determined to fix the problem and after three attempts he was able to fix doing some obscure digging on the internet and best of all, I only paid once! My wife and I have both taken our vehicles to him and both are treated with the same respect and never feel like we're getting snowballed. Glad to have someone so reliable just a few miles away!

I found Import Quality Repairs around 10 yrs ago, and it's the first place I go for any car issues. The owner has worked on my Subarus, Toyota, and my gf's Honda. He is more than fair when it comes to rates. Honest guy, and he knows his stuff... EVERY time I've gone there his diagnosis was right on. He's fast too - I've never had to leave a car with him overnight. I've never had to go back after he's worked on a car either - he gets it right the first time while other shops are still scratching their heads over what's wrong. No question about it, 5/5 stars.
