I don't live in North Carolina anymore but my experiences with Wasp Automotive in Durham and Chapel Hill, NC were so positive that I wanted throw my comments in anyway. Through undergrad and grad school they kept my heaps running. Pete in particular went beyond the call of duty. He once drove to my apartment and got my RX7 running. I had called the shop on the off chance there was someone there on a Sunday. Pete was there working on his own car. He immediately drove across town and got my car running in my parking lot. I wouldn't expect this kind of service on a regular basis but my experiences were consistently positive. They fixed the problems every time, the first time.

I'm looking for a used car that my teenage son will be able to drive, and although I could probably save several thousand dollars by buying a domestic car, I probably won't because these guys don't work on domestic cars. I have been taking cars to them for almost ten years and I have no complaints.

I got the name of this repair shop from this web site and didn't think it was possible for all the glowing testimonials to be true. I took my '92 Honda Civic to Pete because the check engine light went on. Pete called me back within 1/2 hour after dropping the car off and had the repair finished by the end of the day at a fair price. He fixed it right the first time and also adjusted the rear brakes for free because he noticed I had a child seat in the back and was concerned about my kids safety! I've never experienced anything like this before and highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone.

I have been a customer of WASP for over 15 years, I would
not think about buying a car these guys would not service.
Several years ago, I made a stop with my 4 year old
daughter, when I got back to the car, and old RX7, it would
not start. I called Pete and he showed up a few minutes
later with another mechanic. It was a starter problem, so
they gave me a push start, so that I could drop my daughter
off and then bring the car back to them. Just one of the
stories that I have about these guys. They are great,
honest and competent.

The gang at Wasp is more like a group of trusted friends than the automotive
magicians they really are. There is simply no better facility for servicing a
Japanese import in the Triangle. They even triumph on those blasted
problems that somehow manage to defy the laws of physics and logic. They
are honest, friendly, and fair. After fourteen years of Wasp servicing my
vehicles, they have earned my respect and wholehearted recommendation.

I was referred to wasp automotive by a friend. I have taken my Mazda there several times and have recommended my mechanic, Phil, to a number of colleagues and friends, with very good results.Ther e is one long sad story about an unnecessary new rack and pinion system installed by an incompetent auto repair shop. Phil figured out what the real cause of the problem was and I was reimbursed for the unnecessary repair by the bad shop and then Phil fixed the problem. I think that Phil represents what this small chain (3) of shops stand for and I would recommend trying them. It's not easy to find a good mechanic. I know because I am one.

Pete Pettay at the Wasp Automotive shop on Meadow Drive off of Hwy 55, is trustworthy, competent, and will tell you exactly what is wrong with your car and what he will have to do to it. He is a very personable, and friendly mechanic, and he never sells you work unless it is absolutely necessary.

They always gone above and beyond the call of duty for any mechanic. I don't know if that is because as a society we have come to expect less, but I tend to think that even so, Pete and his crew do a fantastic job. Integrity in mechanics and doctors and plumbers is always a welcome find. Thanks, WASP!
