My daughter went to college at MSU and she used this shop to fix various Problems with her 92 Saab 9000. He did a great job and very reasonable. The shop specializes in foriegn cars. The saab dealer in Billings even lets him do warrantee work.

I just moved away from Bozeman after living there for 3 1/2 yrs. and I miss Pete and crew at Straightaway! Had to come to this site and give them a thumbs up. As a 20-something female, I have had bad experiences with mechanics who think since I am a woman, I must not know anything about cars. Pete and his mechanics always treated me well and explained problems in plain english. Work was always done quickly, rides were always offered, and prices were always reasonable. I sent many friends there and all were pleased. One friend took his car there and they fixed the CV joint (or axle??) on one side, but the problem didn't go away. When Pete realized he should have fixed the other side, he did it for FREE. Always honest, excellent service. I may just drive 6 hours to get my car fixed there the next time if it will make it that far!

I was stranded on a cross country roadtrip and these guys helped me out promptly- even though every other shop said they couldn't see me for two weeks. They were efficient and helpful and spent sufficient time explaining the details of my car's problem to me and they all have a great sense of humor down there! I really love that they have Saturday hours, and they even vaccuumed out my car- what a surprise!

They took time to explain any problems with my car and didn't treat me like I wouldn't get it because I am a woman.

Called them up on Monday morning after a weekend do it yourself job went sour. Had all the parts, and asked it they would be able to fix an oil leak on a oil cooler adapter line. They told me they would take a look and see what they could do. They were able to look at the truck that afternoon. I was able to use my parts I bought, and they even reused the oil that I had put in that weekend, instead of claiming it was dirty and costing us even more money. Other shops in the area wanted double the price, and claimed I needed much more repairs when I knew exactly what the problem was. These guys were great, I would recommend them to anyone needing a quick fix, or a planned maintenance. Very small shop (only 2 bays), with limited on street parking, but they are local, and located in downtown. I'll take our truck back any time. Reasonable shop rates as well.

Great shop. I was only in Bozeman for a week and despite being busy Greg got me in the shop, problem diagnosed and corrected all in one day. I got a call to explain the discovered problem and give an estimate. When I picked up the car he actually came in lower than the estimate. Finding a mechanic while out of town is always a little stressful but after meeting Greg I wasn't worried at all. Just one of those places that you know you will be treated well and honestly. Thanks guys!
